Default OEM Hard Top Prices?

Hi all,

If you bought a used OEM hard top (let's assume good condition); what did you pay for it?

I'm thinking about buying one (going to see it tonight), but he's asking a bit more than some of the others I've found online... it's hard to judge if the others are just terrible quality, or what a decent price is (he's asking $3000, and I'll probably try to negotiate a bit depending on the state it's in). There are aftermarket tops that look pretty good that are a lot cheaper on ebay (I've heard good things about ForbiddenUSA, for instance, and their stuff is a lot less expensive), but I'm not sure if it's worth it.

Any thoughts? How much did you pay for yours if you got one used?

Thanks.

$3,000-$3,300 is the typical price range for a good/great condition OEM hard top with hardware. They hold up there value and will increase ever so slightly over the years.
That is correct ForbiddenUSA do sell great tops almost close to OEM but never perfect. I myself went with an OEM top. GL!

If you are patient you can find them under 3000. Problem is making sure the color will work with your car. I found mine (berlina black) under 3k and snatched it up a few years ago. They are nice to have

Thanks all; purchased one (talked him down to just under $3000)! I didn't get the front strikers or the brushes, but the brushes I don't care so much about and the soft top strikers work okay for now.

Thanks all; I'm really enjoying it so far. It rattles pretty bad, but that's just because my strikers are worn out (and not the hardtop ones); we'll see if the guy is willing to ship them (probably not), but if not I figure I can find some on ebay sooner or later and it will be okay for now.

Yup.

Car looks good OP. Keep it simple.

Some rubber tubing over the hardtop spikes should help the rattles. Get some Shin-Etsu grease on all the rubber too.
