Valve Adjustment Problem : Broke Thread
Anyways. From the topic title, I failed to do a proper valve job and overtorqued a thread (never going to trust that wrench again). Lesson learned.
Is there anything I can do about it? If not, what's a good shop around Conyers, GA that won't charge me an arm and a leg. I expect I have to pay about $500 for my mistake. If anyone can help, that would be great. All advice well appreciated. |
Ouch!

Yeah. It sucks. But I guess you don't really learn things until you experience it firsthand.
To clarify, the thread I'm talking about is the thread used to adjust the valve. |
ouch hope nothing major is going to need replacement.
|
that sounds bad i don't think any of us know enough to help you on that one maybe try the under the hood forum

The best thing to do is to change out the valve which will require removal of the head.
Are you familiar enough with the car to take the head off? |
ouch head removal had to do that twice easy out the car pain in the butt in the car. I hink the most difficult part is disconnecting the connections under the Intake.
|
ouch... good luck

Any good news ??

You should always use a valve adjustment tool as well, not a wrench...
