I would've loved an RS.. out of the budget though. And I wanted something rated to tow a small trailer.
Think bigger.. weirder.. Swedish
2004 V70R with a manual transmission. Pretty tough to find these days. I drove out to kentucky to pick mine up this weekned. (Like the hat?)
Don't have any good photos yet. I drove it home in the snow and got it all covered in salt. And now it's dark out.
I love it so far. It's no S2000 in the corners, but the engine is great and the car hides its size pretty well when you're driving it. Very quiet and comfortable.
I just love a sporty wagon. It's a shame the concept is pretty much dead in the US these days. (At least with manual transmissions... you can get some pretty hot AT wagons still, but it's just not the same for me)
IIRC, around ~2007/2008, Audi, BMW, and Volvo all discontinued MT options on their wagons.

nice! i was thinking something in the newer year range. i was going to guess a volvo but no manual in the newer years... my original guess was going to be the RS but i figured you were going to say it was out of your price range (and mine as well)
