I'd say cost has a part in it as well. But yeah, yellow headlights have become an epidemic. It seems to be more miles than age--at least with our cars. One is 3 years older than the other, but the miles are both about 136k. The headlights look about the same.

Yea I did them like two years ago and put a special headlight sealant on them, but it didn't hold up to sitting outside. :-/ Need to do them again and go with the film like you said.
