My parents had a 40th wedding anniversary a couple years back, my attendance was required, gifts were not, they were fairly adamant about that to everyone. It was a decent time, I got to see friends of theirs from when I was a kid, and I enjoyed it. I like my parents though, so
If you've been given stuff you don't want, give it/them to your brother. Just because something was bequeathed to you doesn't mean you have to keep it

The family dynamic is dysfunctional, Jim.
I'm leaning towards selling them, I'd never tell anyone, but still - there is this feeling of guilt hanging over me with just the thought of parting ways with it for cash.

My dad informed me and my brothers that he was never moving again because he has so much stuff to deal with ... then laughed as he said he will just leave it to us when he dies so WE have to move it all :P

So funny how the world is small. Left one job at a huge company in 2012. Got tired of projects starting and stopping for various reasons among other things I did not like there (like working for a huge company). Worked at 2 different design services companies since. Now, consulting on my own, working for a small startup on a lot of projects, and got pulled into a deal to manage a product development .... for the same huge company I used to work for. And to top it off, it was something I worked on over 10 years ago and they decided to de-prioritize it! So now they get to pay me over double the effective hourly rate to work on it lol.
But, also a good lesson on not burning bridges .. even when you leave feeling like dropping a match!

...if the bridge was wooden and you burned it and it was rebuilt with steel - wouldn't that be better anyway?
