Ah ok interesting. I've never looked into the cost but I'm sure it's pricey since you have to use their whole system. Not having to deal with lugging around heavy materials and only having to mix thinset i'm sure is nice though.

Here's a pan I built a couple years ago. Shite was hardwork but ultimately worth it in the end.

so...do I take a pay cut for sanity? Inquiring minds want to know.
I have done it two or three times in my life, one of them was a 70% cut for sanity's sake.

It got a little heated between the mrs and I. I told her the job was going to kill me with the stress (it did it to the last guy) and her response was about money.

At least lie to me and feign a small interest in my health before we talk about money. So, that took us down the wrong path. But we are better now. She still makes more than me; she could still be my sugar momma, right?

How much of a cut are we talking about? In percentages... 20%? 50%? Where is your pain threshold? It is a lateral move skill set wise?

Maybe I have been in the land of Gov't contracting too long but I don't see a need to take a cut unless it is for a major career change. If you are doing the same job but for a different company, it should pay the same. Hell, the new company should pay you more because they don't have to train you.

I was thinking I could wash the car after work, and even walk to the top of the mountain. Then I remembered its daylight savings time.

Nope, that was the basement bathroom. Although our master bath looked the same (since it was a smallish townhouse).

Here's what the bath originally looked like. The previous owner did a super ghetto job finishing it:

Completed pan, just needed to mortar the curb:

Finished bathroom:

It's sad that I no longer get to use the baths anymore after all the work I put into them. Our old TH is rented out now.

I don't know yet--it will be some, but hopefully not a lot! I will find out Friday.
