Starting new job today
Haven't been around much in Mid-A, so :hello: All Y'all! I retired from the fed gov't nine months ago and have been leading a life of leisure since with no problems. :) However, on a whim, I applied to a full-time job I saw online about three months ago that looked exactly like my old job, except in private industry. I indicated I did not want to work full time, but would consider part time if they were interested. Bottom line...they were! I start today working part time from home up to 20 hours a week as a security consultant. I'll be reviewing security docs like system security plans, contingency plans, configuration management plans, etc for various clients. Win-win arrangement. They are happy to have me and I'm happy to get the flexible hours and work location I wanted (home). I will be enrolling in their 401K plan, and I get business cards and a company t-shirt! :dance2:

That sounds like a pretty sweet gig. Congratulations!

Congrats Deb. It's almost like getting paid for a hobby.

Congrats! Can you say who you are with?
I can't even imagine retiring. I love to work. :coat: |
Congrats

The company is Securicon. I did all the employee paperwork today, but will not actually get anything to do for probably a couple of weeks due to the gov't shutdown. Anyhoo, guess I'm official. :)

So is your role more of an FSO or ISSO? |
Thanks for the good wishes. I'm only going to be doing a portion of my former full-time job - reviewing/editing security docs. So I wouldn't say it's at the level of an ISSO. To me that connotes management of everything related to information security. Works for me...I don't want to be doing more at this stage of my life. :)

Sounds like a great thing, Deb! Congrats and good luck!
