Default Scented VTEC? (oil smell after romping on it)

I've heard that a little bit of oil smell is normal after hanging out in VTEC for an extended period. Is this the case? (I have a VERY sensitive nose though)

I have noticed the same faint scent of burnt oil after high RPM driving. I have noticed it in the cockpit while driving every now and then and also coming from the tail pipes after parking it.

Mine has really slowed down on the oil consupmtion after 5000 miles, though.

could also be seals breaking in or exhaust breaking in...
they can both have strange smells (not really oil though)
the main smell i remember was from breaking in the brakes- and then the new spugen exhaust (wow, that smelled really bad).
you didnt say how many miles on the car.

Normal, I suspect. More proof that the '04 is not that different as people were saying (with respect to burning oil).

Follow behind another S sometime while you're pushing it a bit. You'll see whiffs of oil. I think that's just the nature of the beast, Stoned. Don't sweat it. Note, you shouldn't be dripping any oil though... Put some paper under your oil pan and make sure that's not the culprit. If it is, bring it in.

Oh, and if I haven't mentioned it already, Stoned, check your oil at every fill up. If you get caught out with too little oil in that reservoir, you'll be sorry (and I won't be sympathetic ).

Sorry to bring this one back from the dead folks but this is really pissing me off...

i get a bit of strange a whiff when i hit VTEC right to the red. I should add that i ONLY and i mean ONLY "pop tec" after the cars been running for a good 20 mins solid and the car is an MY07 model with 11500 miles on it. I changed the oil and filter with Mobile 1 fully synth 5w-30 at about 10000? And there's plenty still in there.

Im curious to know if anyone else gets this? And is it a normal thing? Cheers guys

Slipping clutch; burnt clutch smell? That's what I smell after charging up mountain road switch backs in my 06 (22,000 miles) after much shifting between the lower gears at high RPMs.
BTW, I have removed the CDV, but need to upgrade the pressure plate/disk combo.
