Attn: Yellow s2k owners, Custom 2-tone Interior?
First let me says thanks to the many s2ki members who helped me with the interior trim removal.
Also a big kudos to my g/f for helping me photoshop the colors into the car for reference only. Please keep in mind the colors may be a bit off but in real life it will be painted Rio Yellow and the inserts will be matching as well.
I removed both roll hoops and my center console glove box earlier this morning after a lot of swearing but now my car really looks like it got stolen...hahaha Ready to proceed to the next step but I want to get your opinions!
My goal was get the roll hoops gel coated and painted Rio yellow along with a custom 2-tone interior leather make over but it seems like I have more choices than I thought.
I want to keep it classy and clean since I really love the oem red/black interior that comes on the silverstone and silver s2000's. (included that as the first pic for a reference point).
So my question is which color combo would you guys pick?
Option 1: Do the yellow perforated leather inserts on the doors and seats but not take it all the way up to the top like the OEM version and body match and gel coat the roll hoops and upper glove box section ONLY.
Option 2a and 2b: Take the yellow leather inserts all the way to the top like OEM setup and keep the roll hoops black? Maybe gel coat them berlina black or chrome?
Option 3: Do the yellow perforated leather like option 1 but bring the yellow gel coating down into the glove-box section.
Option 4: Do just the yellow leather inserts but not take it to the top compared to the OEM red leather. Keep the roll hoops black.
My only other plan is to get matching MUG mats in black with yellow trim and maybe a yellow or black suede shift boot.
Please vote which option you guys would do or feel free to chime in!
thanks,
rick

#2A or #4. I agree that the yellow roll hoops are not a great idea. I also think they might be a bit bright and distracting in the rearview mirror. I'm not talking blindingly distracting, just that little catch to the corner of the eye that mihght take some getting used to. The yellow seat inserts will look nice though.
just get your seats and door inserts done in black/yellow like the oem scheme. Everything else just looks plain tacky.
You want this to look classy and professional - painted panels and interior trim is for ricers IMHO
