Being a Berlina owner, something caught my eye. What I saw made me sick. Not only the looks, but the pricing. Take a look at what these guys are asking for what is essentially chrome OEM wheels and tinted windows! What do you think?

 

Wow, that is crazy. Over 8K more than I paid for my 07.

Yeah, I don't know what a dealership is thinking doing something like that. Basically you can go out and buy a 335i Coupe for that price.

But, chrome doesn't belong on this car.

 

That price is insane.

I've seen two different 06-07 S2Ks with chromed OEM rims here in Southern/Central California; and they looked really nice. I stopped in at Sunset Honda (San Luis Obispo) and was quoted $1600 to chrome my stock '06 rims with a one week turn-around time. The chrome rims may not appeal to everybody, but it is something I may consider when I'm ready for a new set of tires sometime next year.

As for the window tint... I've tried and failed miserably at cleanly installing tint before, so I went ahead and paid a professional: $150 to tint the rear convertible and side windows, $75 to tint the big OEM hardtop window, and $50 to put a narrow strip of tint at the top of my windshield.

 

Yup, chrome rims definitely don't belong on the S...unless you don't mind them robbing your performance...chroming adds a LOT of weight!
