Wink 2002 Black on Full Red 36500 miles $16500

**Sold** Thanks S2KI

Thanks for looking. The price is $16,500 firm. I'm changing it from OBO except for the people who I've already quoted a different price because I'm getting so much interest. I know you can get a newer car for that price but it is hard to find a 2002 in this color combo, in this condition, with such low miles. I'm located in Westchester, NY and I am willing to deliver the car for free in the tri-state area or for fee elsewhere in the country. I can also ship it if you prefer or pick you up at any of the NY area airports.

I've quit my job and with the goal of moving into NYC, having this car won't be very practical. This is probably the best low mileage example of the rare color combo made only in 2002, Berlina Black on full red. The car has a clean title in hand.

2002 is a great year for the s2000:

9000 RPM redline
Rear glass window
Improved transmission
Tweaked ECU for more power
Full red interior
More powerful stereo than earlier models with door tweeters
and other smaller improvements over 00-01

I am the second owner of the car. I bought it last February from the original owner, an older gentleman in Pennsylvania who kept it in a climate controlled garage, never drove it in rain or snow, and always changed the oil every 2500 miles with Mobil 1. I bought the car with 29,000 miles on it. It is currently my DD so miles will go up until it is sold.

After I purchased the car, I took it to Billman, NY's finest s2000 mechanic (and enthusiast). He said he hadn't seen a cleaner car and motor in a long time. He did a valve adjustment (no broken retainers), tranny, diff, and oil change. Performed the Rear Axel nut TSB, did the top down mod, and did a clutch pedal adjustment. Also did a new cabin filter and whatever else is done at 30k. I have changed the oil twice since then with mobil 1 and Honda oil filter. Car just passed NY state inspection April 2nd 2010.

After that I started to get the car as perfect as possible. I took it to UCC (NY Metro board sponsor body shop) to get a couple of dings out, get the bumper which was scratched up replaced. I added the factory front lip and rear spoiler.

I took the seats to the Leather Institute in New Jersey (Sean, 2002s2k on this board) to get the seats refinished, making sure that the little bolster wear and fade didn't become a bigger issue. I got them done twice actually because the first time a bird got the seats on the way home from the first refinish.

I've taken the car a few times to another NY metro sponser, Andrew, who is a great detailer. He's done a couple of 3 stage details on the car and he is a master at getting out any scratches on the car.

As far as modifications, I've kept it simple:

*K&N FIPK Intake
*Invidia q300 exhaust (the quiet Invidia exhaust)
*Eibach prokit lower springs
*Rick's smoked JDM headlight diffusers
*Rick's smoked sidemarkers
*HardTop Guy's front and rear black chrome emblems (custom, not the huge block emblems)
*Black Chrome "s2000" side emblems
*Berlina keyhole plugs
*550 gram counter sunk shift knob (great feel and makes throw feel a lot shorter)
*Rick's license plate holder painted Berlina Black

I have the original exhaust, springs, side markers, diffusers, shift knob if you want them.

The car is mechanically perfect as far as I can tell. The transmission, acceleration, brakes and suspension are all spot on. I had the car aligned a few weeks after the prokit settled. The car has never been launched, tracked, or abused. Mechanically the car is 10/10.

As you can tell, I've tried to keep the exterior as flawless as possible. However, since it's last trip to the body shop and detailer, the car has somehow gotten a small ding on the trunk, and a very tiny one (think half the side of a dime) on the driver's fender. Shouldn't cost more than $200 or so to fix with PDR. Overall the paint is excellent with some scratches that should be gone with a good detail/ wet sanding. The hood has usual paint chips from highway driving. The top works perfectly and has no imperfections. I sanded down any rough edges and lubed up the rails to make sure the frame doesn't cut the top. Exterior after getting dings out and detail would be 9-9.5/10 overall.

The interior is very clean. The seats were refinished and show very little wear. I purchased new floor mats and they are in great condition. The door panels and dash are very clean with no gashes or tears. Interior is 9.5/10.

The wheels on the car right now are some rough AP1 wheels that I purchased cheaply when I sold my JDM bbs wheels. The car will come with the original AP1 wheels which are in perfect condition and you can have the 2nd rough set as a backup if you would like.

Here are some pictures.

These are a few I snapped today (4/4/2010). Sorry the quality isn't that great. The wheels on it are the beat up AP1s, the ones that will come on it are flawless.

Here are slightly older ones.
