Red face Scuba Divers and S2ki.com

Watsup everyone, if your lookin at this you have either gone scuba diving before or are iterested in doing it.
I wanted to start a thread to see who's out there that likes diving.I just moved down to FL from CT so i wanted to meet but some people, share spots, experiences, photos and the oppurtunity to even go on and S2k group dive!

For those that have not gone diving before but are interested in trying it out please speak up and say something it's a great experience that everyone can do. In order for you to go on a dive if your not certified you must do a 'Discover Scuba' which is an entry dive usually with a beach walk in entry into shallow water or a pool to show you the basic skills. After that you can go on a dive of down to 45 feet.

So heres what this thread should somehwar contain and ofcourse not limited to, what I mentioned earlier; share expeirences, diving spots/events, photo's, qeustions AND a location and car if you have it.

Example:
Nick - 18 - DM Training - GPW '04 - Miami Beach
I've been diving at a bunch of places. Hawaii, American/British Virgin Islands, Australia, and the Keyes before. Most of my dives have been in the British virgin islands and it's probably my favorite place to go diving besides Australia but that is a little far to go lol...
Been diving since I was 13 and ever since than been as getting as far certified as I can. Rescue Diver as soon as I turned 16 and now I'm doing the Dive Master training
and will continue to instructor. I'm actually going to a Palau with the dive shop I'm getting certified with.

Who's out there??

Damn dude...get on some lessons and ill help you out its not so much about swimming either, you'll be using fins and wont be doing the same motion as you do ontop of water, but its def. a requirement.

It really depends on what kind of a budget your working around and how much you want to do. You pay what...130 bucks for an hour of jetskiing??
For around 190 you go on a 4 hour scuba trip, which includes 2 dives...that includes the gear. But as i mentioned, you have to do Discover Scuba, i will ask how much they will charge...
PM me if you have further interest man!

Frequent Florida diver signing in...

In fact, I'm in Key West driving right now!

Advanced certified, own all my own gear (minus tank), dive computer, and had a digital camera & case... but the camera died going through the baggage handlers last year.

It's only as expensive of a hobby as you want it to be. I have friends in Indiana that are nearing $10k into it (bought all new gear, crazy expensive dive computer, and a HD camcorder/case) and I have friends who own absolutely no gear and just rent gear every time they dive.

If you do want to keep your costs down, check with your local dive shop... buy their old rental equipment. My wife bought all the equipment that she rented to get certified...

Hello,
I actually live in GA now, but I come down and visit family a few times a year. We try to dive whenever we get a chance. Unfortunately it is only a few times a year. We just went diving out of Ft. Lauderdale about 2 weeks ago. I originally got certified when I was 13, then years later I got recertified with my wife (gf at the time). We have been diving in mexico and through out the caribbean. Also from Miami up to just about West Palm. We have just about all the gear, but since we don't get to that often I have been renting the equipment. The last boat I went on (the american dream) the cost of the two dives with equipment was $100 for me and $90 for my wife since she had her BCD. I'm not sure the next time we will be here, but I'm sure we would love to try and dive again.
