Default The Streets of Paris

Ferrari 275GTB loose on the Streets of Paris

Hmmm It's been a few years now. Anyone know who the driver was?

Like so many ball busters, it never really happened like it appeared to (still its exciting as all H to watch . . . especially on the DVD).

Rendezvous - the cult classic short movie of speeding through Paris was filmed using a 6.9 liter Mercedes-Benz at speeds that never exceeded 85 mph. What carries the movie is the Ferrari 275GTB sound that was dubbed to give the impression of speeds double that.

I enjoyed watching it. It has to be French! All that driving just for the "Rendezvous."

There seem to be lots of different stories about what and who it was on the internet.

^^Yeah. I didn't find anything at Snopes (whom I trust), just Wikipedia (whom I for sure don't).

Notwithstanding, it does get the blood pumping. Whew! HPH

Quel rendevous a Paris! Selon la vraie tradition francaise - le film se termine avec l'arrivee d'une jolie femme.

A version of the story was that the driver wanted to commit suicide by driving fast in the city.

Leave it to the French to not be able to do a job right.
