Default Un-boosting :(

So, i've decided I don't like the world of boost... it terrifies me, and its not practical if I want the car to last. Not to mention its my DD...

Also, I got to thinking, if it does get totaled, my insurance will NOT reimburse me for any of the mods. I want this car to be stock again. And so I begin the long arduous road of returning to stock (Mostly).

Hood is gonna get shipped down here from Huntsville. I have wheels and tires (Stock AP2) on Tuesday going on the car. I'm going to take off the turbo kit and put the V2 back on (probably). The wing cannot come off unfortunately, because then i'll have holes in the trunk.

I'm coming to 1 of 3 decisions. Put this car back to stock and enjoy it like Shigeru Uehara wanted it to be. OR, Stock it, sell it, and buy a Lotus (probably not happening).
OR, Sell/Trade it as is, and get a new stock s2000. No mater which decision I make, I will loose a LOT of money. But I am prepared.

I want your input, advice, and opinions. Please keep the "dont get rid of your s2000 man!" comments... I know. It is one of my favorite cars ever made...

My Sig has a link to the for sale thread for some of the goodies...

Selling your car for a "new" S2000 is a bad idea. I understand parting it out to "mostly" stock, but completely down to the wheels is serious. I can see you trading it for another car also. I can tell you that driving a "boosted" car and then driving it with no boost is the suck. You'll notice how much power and where it was now. blah, blah, blah

As for other options, I'm sure you could find someone to trade for a comptech/vortech kit. Those 2 options can be as reliable as your power output. You can also add some coverage to your insurance policy also.

I wish you the best of luck.

Remember I had a boosted car before... I just don't like how much power I'm getting... and its not even a lot. I just want it to be stock again. To feel like it was supposed to. NA. It can be a monster NA too... the ASM s2000 is lol it was designed to be NA, so I want it to be again...

Nothing against boost, and definatly nothing against the Greddy kit... it just isnt for me...

I'm really thinking about leaving it like it is, and trading for say, a 2004, or 2003...

I'm weighing my options... seeing which way will loose the least amount of money...

I completely understand that part, but why trade it for another S2000. S'plain that part to me. I just don't see where anything is "wrong" with your car to justify a trade for another. Good luck though bud.

Its 100% mental...

For some reason, my brain thinks there is stuff wrong with mine because it has been boosted... (plus I never really liked red lol)

It could be perfectly fine... but boost did a lot of damage to my previous car... so i'm a bit biased...

The internals are pretty solid, unless you overreved or something to that extent, I uldn't think you have anything to worry about.

Ok, thats what im thinking...

The fun part will be remembering where everyhing is at... and then where to put it all... lol

Hot side is easy... cold side is easy... oil system will be pretty easy, but the fuel injectors and fuel pump are going to SUCK !

Have someone do a compression and leakdown test. That's a fairly good judge of the health of a motor.
