So lets have an old pic of my old turbo kit and engine. Custom made one-of kit by Lovefab:

Engine got blown by an idiot that stole his son's repuation (since he has the same name) and called himself a tuner. So Jerry from API Tuning in NY....I hope you get hit in the face by a flying piston.

So I took the engine out for the billionth time.

So busy with work, school, and the car I don't get a chance to shave (excuse the tan line )

Gearbox out and working on the Oil Pan:

Block got it sent off to Laskey racing for a new build since I didn't have the time to build my own block this time. Here it is in the back of my 93 Civic Si hatch after a 7hr drive:

Benson Sleeved

Here is the reason why I am going to be switching out the valvetrain I have currently and never got to actually use for more than 100 miles:

I put the engine in and skipped a lot of pics, put on the water lines, starter, a bunch of wires, removed evap stuff, put on clutch, gearbox, driveshaft, shifter.

Alright, time to start assembling the rest of the head. I had to turn the crank a good few revolutions and line it up with the white mark and the pointer to get to the two dark links on the timing chain:

Here I am using the greatest tool in existance. It's basically a magnet. If you drop that washer you are in deep doo-doo. I always keep this washer held with it so I dont have to take apart everything to get to it:

Next it's time to put the cams on. I use the 3rd cam cap and just tighten those down. The marks on the cam gears should point to each other while the main sprocket will have two marks that should line up flush with the head. Notice the dot sitting between the two dark links of the chain as well:

Now just put the rest of them on and torque them down to the proper torque specs:

Struggling to reach the alternator:

Look at that sexy water pump pulley...SEXY...just painted:

Intercooler on, some of the intercooler piping on:

Manifold on (with 3 bolts), turbo on (with 2 bolts). Cut the A/C lines, condenser, etc A/C stuff. Just mocking things to see what fits, what needs modification, what other things I want to do/change:

So now I have to go and get the intercooler piping from turbo to the half of the drivers side that I have made, I want to get a open dump tube instead of recirculated, and get an exhaust fabricated. So I will make an appointment for all that nice and expensive work...yay...

In the mean time I will go ahead and powder coat my valve cover and catch can myself so stay tuned for the next issue!

Looks Great! Your first post was so beautifuuly alphabetized until Mugen Thermostat came before Lovefab mini-me I'm excited to see the results of this set-up. Why did you choose the mini-me as opposed to the GT1 that most of us have? Is it to be different or is it better? Just curious. Good Luck Rashed.

Rashid is probably sick of crazy-ass setups, so he went with something rather simple this time.

Bingo....I just wanted something simple again I would have probably gone with the GT1 build since it does put out gobs more power.

The old mani definately needs to be coated.

I hate the TS hood because it's not ment for people working on the car apparently because you cannot open it up fully with the other hood prop position on the passenger side. It landed on my head one time while I was adjusting the valves.
