I got quoted $1100 for a clutch job at my dealership. Same day turn around, with all new parts.

$560 for labor; 6 hrs almost.
$460 for clutch assembly.
$80 for new flywheel.



Anyone else got better numbers with the same turn around time?

 

1100 doesnt seem too bad. i've heard of people getting quoted around 2k or upwards of that. you could always grab the parts and have some other shop do it... do you get discount on the parts?? the labor seems regular.

i might be bringing my car in for an hour or so for an oil change today so maybe you'll be around haha.

 

aka Hondamanwill will labor it for about 300ish. You can get a heavy duty ACT and Comptech flywheel for the difference. Patience and shopping around get you the best parts deals. Don't be afraid of a used PP as long as you inspect it.

Update: Talked to the service manager. He said he can charge me whatever he pays the mechanic.. $30/hr for a 5 hr job.. $150.

Now it's just parts. I just need something that's similar to the OEM clutch parts.. nothing fancy. Can anyone give me some references on who I should call for clutch assembly/flywheel?

 

you work at a honda dealership, I would figure you would be able to get the best discounts for honda parts rather than other random guys out there, no? I would stick to OEM parts though and not aftermarket clutch parts. And didn't you just get your car too?

 

Since your just going to sell the car anyways, you can just replace the glazed disk and call it a day. $150 for labor then 100ish for a stock disk.

 

Hey wussup Nick. Yeah, I'm trying to sell the car, but the clutch is so bad that it's BARELY driveable. I don't think the buyer would want a car with a burnt clutch.

Different places get Honda parts at a different price, even if they are dealerships. I'm having Honda service do my clutch as soon as I get the parts, but the parts are a bit pricey.. I'm debating whether on going with OEM or with aftermarket.

 

curious - how many miles do you have on that clutch? i'm also an '02 owner, i'd like to guage when it's time for a new clutch
