so im leaning on the skunk2 springs and i had a few questions..

1. how long did it take to settle.
2. did u really need an alignment.
3. did u need to mess with the camber settings.
4. how long have u been riding on stock shocks.
5. did u need spacers?

 

1. Any quality spring manufacture will do the inital settling, but not sure about skunk2.

4. Won't take long before you break your OEM struts and the main feature of this car (handling) will go down the drain, you're dropping over 1.3 inches.

Verdict: Take them off and strap them to your feet and pogo around, then save up a few bucks and buy coilovers or keep them and get koni struts.

 

If your just cruising and not some weekend track warrior, I say use your OEM struts till they go bad, then replace with Koni's.

Thats true..Well, if the OP has a lot of time on his hands and no money for struts, thats my recommendation.

 

when i installed my skunks, it settled when i took it for a ride it dropped at least another 1/2 inch in the front, and then my l/f shock blew out in a week, then i bought konis for the front and after 3 days threw them away and got apexi exv coilovers.

 

People talk alot of crap, I have no complains about my skunk2's. Settling was done after 2 days of driving. Stock shocks are good and its been 2 months. They ride like stock a slight bit stiffer maybe. I havent gotten my car aligned, slight inner camber wear in the rear and even less in the front. Overall im satisfied with the drop and ride of these springs and would recomend them. Spacers? what for? it dosent drop that much.

i tell you this from my personal experiance with the springs.

 

People can say the same about your opinion.

I don't think there is one OEM strut/shock that was "ok" with being lowered 2.0", the shock was designed to compress and rebound in a certain range, you have just moved that range down 2" inches. Now when you compress the shock, how much travel do you think it has left? You are going to bottom out the shock repeatidely until it blows.

Don't take my word for it, because I have no "personal experience", the reason for that is I would rather learn from other people's mistakes then make them myself.

Get coilovers that were designed for the drop.

 

 

I think the skunk2's made the car a lot easier to drift
