Default factory alarm not working all of a sudden..........

never had a problem, and then saturday afternoon, it stopped working.

tried my extra remote - it doesn't work either.

the little red light lights up on both remotes, so it's not a battery issue.

i checked the brain under the seat - everything is plugged in...antenna is straight with no kinks.

i had a bunch of suspension bars installed saturday at noon - they had to jack up the front substantially to install the cross brace (car was on jack stands).

then they lowered the front and jacked up the rear (substantially again) to install the rear bar (again the rear was on jack stands).

question: doing this wouldn't have fooled the alarm into thinking the car was towed or something (thereby rendering the alarm inoperable), would it??

is there any way to reset the alarm/brain??

it stopped working after i visited the shop for the above installs.....it was working up until then.

thanks in advance.....

I have had the exact same problem and I am also curious as to what has caused my alarm to stop working too. Basically samething as PLYRS but I changed my oil then diff fluid. The only thing I didnt check was the "antenna?" Not sure what/where that is, so any help on that would be cool. Thanks.

Did you put the alarm into Valet mode?

The antenna is a little wire that is attached to the control unit under the seat. It is probably about 8-10" long.

my alarm/door locks/trunk is not responding to input from my remotes all of a sudden. I have plenty of battery in the remotes.

It is the Honda OEM alarm system, installed when I bought the car, long ago. The original remotes still operate the doors, locks, trunk. So I think there is something wrong with the alarm system. I looked under the seat and all appears to still be connected. I don't know which fuse is used for the alarm.

Did you guys figure out what is wrong with your alarms?

Thanks.

there is this incident i couldn't lock or unlock my car with my buddy's s2k...

I had a similar problem with my '05 OEM alarm. Worked fine for a year, then began randomly not working. When I looked the symptoms up on this and other boards, I saw I wasn't alone. The solution I chose was an aftermarket alarm. For about $200, the problem went away and stayed away. Doesn't solve the root cause, but at least I don't have the problem anymore.

OK, now my alarm is misbehaving. OEM alarm. The remote opens the doors but doesn't turn the alarm off. I get in the car, put the key on the lock, alarm went off, remote turns the alarm off. Happened twice, at home and then at work. Replaced the battery during the day. Any suggestions?

Just tried my second remote and the same result. Another thread tells me to unlock, insert key and press valet switch to turn off alarm... but the remote does turn off the alarm once I'm in the car. Strange.

Another symptom. The panic button doesn't work. I occasionally in the past would set off the alarm with keys in my pocket pressing the panic key. Both remotes the same.

I set off the panic button, keys in pocket this morning (before the fix?)

Ok, I disconnected the battery for some time (while washing the Fit). Reconnected the battery. Alarm went off ;-) and stopped with remote (as before but when the panic button didn't work??).

Now I re-programmed the two remotes. I didn't get the door lock or light (may have missed) confirmation. Only one remote worked. Probably user error. But now I get the one beep lock, two beeps unlock and the alarm is working. No fuse pulling.

Worked for at least an hour :-) I'll get back if it doesn't (and maybe if it does) work.
