Default poping noise, er somewhat

I took my S to work today (to much sadness on doing so), to discover that on mildly hard braking i'd hear a loud pop sound... Scared the shate out of me to be blunt.
At first I thought it was my rotors breaking (cracking), but i was braking fine.
Going up a steep entrace to a walgreens i hear the loud pop again, from the front of my car (both times).

Could my suspension or something very serious be "injured"?
Im honestly thinking the worst already, and cant bear to hear the truthful outcome.

But, I need to know whats up beforehand. Im obviously taking it into the dealer, pending that my warrenty will cover. Otherwise, midas.

Has anyone ran into this problem before?
Could it be that its cold and just normal?

I really want opinion and if possible first hand experience on such problem.

PLEASE!

Mine does the same thing, its a pop followed by something tugging the car forward. It sounds like something engaging in the transmission really quickly...maybe its the clutch, maybe not but the car has always done that and I've always thought it was a normal thing.

Thats not the case with my car. Once I push in the clutch, it pops a bit, but that only happens when I'm stationary. Well, at least thats when I notice mine the most, I didn't really think much of it though.

It might be your ball joints, maybe sticking calipers... anyways its not a normal sound. Ive had my s for 5 years now and it has 55k on it and i have never had any promblems or funny noises. Anyways it doesnt sound good. But it would be hard to really tell you what it is, i am a mechanic and to figure stuff out we mechanics have to test it and hear the noise. it could be alot of things... Does the car handle any different??? take it to a good shop.

No, the car doesn't handle any different. Just everytime I coast to a stop and compress my clutch pedal, there would be some sort of little pop and a very small spike in torque that sometimes gives a mild nudge forward. This happens ONLY at VERY low speeds.

I recall a thread for older AP1's that had bad welds, where (I think) the A-arms are attached to the chassis. This also caused a loud popping sound. You might want to search this.

Ok fellas, I did a couple of searches on this and found these threads on this problem. Apparently, its a pretty well known problem.

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...0&#entry1190325
Apparently, Honda calls this "pop" fix to be the TSB 02-046 procedure, where they replace a spindle nut in the affected axle to eliminate the popping sound.

However, my problem isn't more of a popping, its a "thud" in the first and found a post regarding this "thud" in the same link above stating that the "thud" is due to load.

"I get the thud as well, it's just from the load, try shifting into second then 1st and you wont get a thud."

This second to first gear actually does work for me...I'm not sure whether I should still be concerned or not...

EDIT: I stated that this happens to me everytime I compress the clutch, it actually only happens when I go into first gear.
