Thumbs down multiple cylinder misifre

yesterday i wasn't driving my car hard at all (for once). i was driving for a good while then in a parking lot i was slowing to a stop and my exhaust note completely transformed. it sounded exactly like a WRX. EXACTLY. so i got a blinking CEL. on the way home i felt like i had maybe 50hp and it smelled VERY RICH. also it drank a TON of gas. i made my way home and read the code. i didnt write down the numbers, but the codes were for:

1) cylinder 1 misfire
2) cylinder 3 misfire
3) multiple cylinder misfire
4) ignition system misfire

so my uncle and i took out the coil packs and used an ohmmeter. he measured the resistance between each of the 3 prongs on the coil packs and between the part where the spark plug touches and each of the 3 prongs. he did this with a spark plug in the coil pack and on the naked coil pack. 3 of the coil packs gave a reading of 0, and 1 of them gave a reading. we figured the coil packs needed to be changed. 2 of the spark plugs were loose when we checked, so we retightened all of them properly.

so today i swapped a friend's coil packs in and the car still sounded like a WRX and it backfired. no progress. my next step is to swap out the spark plugs for new ones...

any input would be greatly appreciated!

mods that might interfere:

tuned with AFC Neo (stock injectors)
NGK 7173 plugs
CTSC/AC making 5psi currently
electronic boost and water temp gauges
comptech esm

Sucked water in
Bent/burnt valve
Bad gas
Bad injectors
Fouled plugs
i know there are more. Try a compression and leakdown test first and see if everything is good there. Then injectors

You have the wrong plugs. You need to swap with:

NGK Laser Platinum PFR7G-11S

Try that first.

Make your plugs aren't loose.

Did you use a pnp harness for the neo or just tap the wires. I had the same thing happen to me and the problem was my AEM FIC. I had a lose wire somewhere. Once I rewired the stock harness and purchased my pnp harness the car ran perfected again.

I ran 7173 plugs without issues. I would check the afc and esm connections for shorts.

a large amount of people have run 7173's with Comptech and Vortech superchargers with no issues due to the plugs.
