Default How long till Redline?

Hiya folks!

been breaking in my new S, shes 30 miles shy of 900 miles now. Dealer told me I can open her up at 900... is this accurate??

I dont want to rev my baby before she's ready!

I'm dying to do so mind you.

hmmm I bought My S used so I never gave this any thought have you checked your owners manual.. I dont know for sure but I assume youd be ok

also if reving high is your thrill of choice you may want to look into doing an ECU swap (puting a 00-02 ECU I beleive) will alow you to rev your otherwise stock f22 out to 9K Ive heard its as safe as stock but only time will tell

DOH! The owners manual says the break-in period is 600 miles - specifically it says "do not exceed 5500 rpm for the first 600 miles (1000km)". You've wasted 270 miles!

and make sure you warm it up first. AP1 needs 3 bars before you can I think AP2 needs 4/5 but you prolly already know that

Aahh...no better sight then seeing those red lines at the end of the tech blink a couple of time before shifting

Have fun.

Yeah, follow the manual. I have found the motor loosens up all the way through 6000 miles or so.
