Default Buying a second hand s2000

Having given the matter a great deal of though I'm going to buy a s2000 second hand. Looking at the various prices I can afford to go for a low mileage 2004 model or newer if need's be but I'd rather spend a little less and pay off more of my mortgage!

In terms of new/second hand, I have the budget to get a new one if need's be, but I have no objections to getting a second hand one, so I might as well save the cash unless anyone has a good reason to buy new.

Take a read of the FAQ at the top of this forum.. I did...

I went for a 2005 as I wanted a car that was MY04 or later.

Do it... best move I made recently was buying my S.

1st RULE: You do not talk about THE SECRET COMPARTMENT.
2nd RULE: You DO NOT talk about THE SECRET COMPARTMENT.

Mikey please edit your post, someone might even find this in a search.

I don't think there's been a facelift since 2004, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, what is a sensible UK price for a 2000 model with 20k of mileage?

Best to check parkers.co.uk
There has been a further facelift since 2004. The MY06 introduced new 17" wheels, a couple of new colours and the introduction of optional Vehicle Stability Assistance, amongst other things. See the FAQ for more information.

Parkers is, in my experience, not especially accurate when it comes to prices. It was certainly way off the mark when I came to sell last summer. You have to pay

Chomsky, you're a legend my dear chap. Had I realised that I could get a new model as cheaply as that I wouldn't be bothering you all with these crazy questions!

Many thanks to everyone else who has contributed by the way. A couple of additional questions: how often do people have to change the tyres (in terms of mileage) and how much do they cost? How much is a service with a Honda dealer (assuming nothing has gone wrong)? Are there any major service mileposts where something expensive needs to be done, such as changing the cam belt, etc.

Thanks again for all the help thus far!
