Default Escort ZR3 Laser / SR7 Radar Installation

Goals:
* Not only have strong detection, but also "Cloak" car against laser guns;
* Strong radar & laser sensitivity while minimizing "falsing";
* "Stealth" look to radar & laser system components. No cords stretching across compartment. No devices hanging off visor or mounted in top hidden compartment. No visible devices at all if pulled over;
* Easy & fast to mute and control volume;
* A permanent, theft resistant install so I'd never have to worry about the stuff being stolen with the car parked and the top down.

Configuration:
- Chose highly rated Escort remote SR7 radar & ZR3 laser shifter combination
- "Indash" install
- Front & rear detectors & shifters
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A.) 2 Laser Shifters & 1 radar detector mounted in grill in places that will not require relocation if I'm forced (by the law) to put my plate back on. Shifters located to maximize protection of lasers aimed at headlights. License plate removed to eliminate potential target [and maximize good looks]

Can you see them? Stealthy?

B.) Here's a version that I've lightened up to better show the locations.

C.) The rear device mounts using the license plate bracket holes.

D.) And the beauty of this configuration is it fits perfectly into the front air vent opening. I never use this vent anyway so no great loss for me. I blocked off the vent behind the device in a way that routes the air to the driver side vent which is still operational. I swear they made this unit to the perfect size just for the S2000. (see yellow arrow).

E.) Mounted the mute button under the defrost for quick access to turn off the laser shifter & warning alarm once I get the speed down. This way I keep them thinking they have an equipment malfunction and ensure they don't think I'm jamming them. This button also adjusts the volume.

This install just "saved my bacon" this afternoon coming home. Road speed limit drops from 50 to 30 when crossing state lines. Cop was sitting right there. But I had that rascle wrapped and fully protected.

Planned Enhancements:
1.) I'm going to add a standalone powered speaker as I'm having problems hearing this with top down doing 85mph with stereo on.

2.) Twin front firing .30 calibre Browning Machine guns behind the front indicators - just like the James Bond Aston Martin DB5 in Goldfinger.

still loving it Doug...

btw- thanks, they had the lowest pricing i've EVER heard of for the ZR3... definitely something that could be budgeted... and to think the BMW dealer wanted something like $1k installed for the ZR3 alone...

Yeah, it took a few days of Googling to find them. At first I thought the price was so low it must have "fallen off the back of a truck"

Then I learned they are an authorized Escort dealer. It became a no brainer for me to buy it from them. Seems they are a start-up so that explains the desire to make a name.

Disclaimer: I have no personal or financial interests in this firm. Just found them to be a good seller.

Great install, djweaver! How's ramp up of K & Ka bands with the antenna in that location? I switching to an installed detector but can't decide where to put the antenna.

FYI this is a really old thread. ZR3's are not the best laser jammer out there.
