Default someone at Subway should proofread their coupons!

This is an EXACT quote from a coupon on the back of a Safeway receipt:

FREE 6" Sub
With Purchase of any 6" sub
or wrap of equal or lesser value
& a medium or larger soft drink.

Anybody else see a problem with their wording? (It took a second for it to register)

Are you referring to the fact that it should have read "of equal or GREATER value"? That's the only potential problem I can spot.

I think they mean you can get a wrap if it's less. Poor wording, nonetheless.

Although they have to honor it as written (they've made an offer, you've accepted it, so a contract exists), you'll probably get a lot of static from them first.

Fifteen years ago we owned a Honda Civic 4WD wagon. We got a coupon in the mail for a discount on a clutch replacement: $350 or so. We took it to the local dealer and had the clutch replaced, and when we picked it up were given a bill for about $650. We pointed to the coupon: $350. The manager said that the coupon didn't apply to the 4WD wagons. We pointed to the coupon: $350 - no restrictions, no exclusions, no mention of 2WD vs 4WD. He charged us $350.

On a related note, Subway cancelled the stamp program b/c some franchise owners were ebaying their stamps. If you have a pile of subway cards with stamps, you have until May to get free sandwiches with them.

shouldn't that say "medium or large" soft drink?

why does it say "larger"?
