Default June 8th Day-trip Meet and Greet

I have been talking to the C.O.s for St. Louis, and we are putting together a group event for June 8th 2008.

The plan is for us to caravan to Peoria IL where the St. Louis club will meet us for lunch. We will hang out for a little while and get a chance to socialize before getting back in our cars and each heading for home.

I am also open to suggestions on a place to have lunch in Peoria.

Along the way, there will be three scheduled stops. Each will be an opportunity for people to join up with the group.

The first stop will be at the Hooter's in Schaumburg.

From there we will get on Rt 53 South, follow it to I355 South and to I55 South.

We will meet up in Bolingbrook at the parking lot for Century Tile:
http://www.google.com/maps?num=100&hl=en&l...=local&ct=image

This is just north of I55 off of Rt. 53. This is on the East side of the street.

From there we will proceed to I55 W and take that to I80W. We will head west to Ridge Road (almost immediately exit) to a gas station. We will fill up there, to make sure no one runs out of gas on the way there, or the way back. Once we leave the gas station, we will head South on Ridge Rd. and follow the signs to the Starved Rock state park. The drive is very twisty, it's truly a great road for a sports car.

Here is the schedule:

7:00AM meet at Hooter's in Schaumburg.
7:30AM SHARP we will leave Hooter's and head for Century Tile
8:15AM Arrive at Century Tile
8:45AM SHARP we will depart from Century Tile
9:15AM We will arrive at a gas station in Minooka.
11:45AM Arrive in Peoria

The total Trip is about 165mi one way (from Schaumburg.) We can take the same route home, or come back via the highway, we will decide once we leave Peoria.

I built a detailed route on Google Maps: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geoc...ie=UTF8&t=h&z=8
This shows the route we are going to take in detail.

Once we get to Peoria, we will be headed for the Texas Roadhouse:

http://roadhouse.know-where.com/roadhouse/...site?site=00131

They don't have a "party" area or large tables, so we will need to sit in groups of 4-6, but this should get us through lunch a little faster than a single large table would.

Their menu can be seen here:

The key decider for this location is that there is a LARGE parking lot adjacent to the restaurant, so we can meet up and not have to worry about anyone with Mini-vans or IS350s parking with us.

Would like to pass on Big Al's for this first meet with the group. no other particular choice with the exception that they have a big parking lot and can handle large groups.

If I'm home, I might be able to meet up with the St. Louis group somewhere on their way in (since my home is south-west of Peoria) or just head in myself, but if I'm up in Chicago, I'd love to meet up with you guys on your way down. Either way, count me in as long as nothing major comes up!
