Default i lost to a truck

Dont race a GMC 4 wheel drive , no less.
My buddy has a GMC 6.6 lilter turbo d ....that thing dumped my S like it was nothing . i have never seen anything lanch like this truck did , it was unreal . We even went on the go and no luck , the S had no chance at all . Thinking its time for some gears

or maybe just drive the S the way it was meant to be , don't drag race w/it

Our cars are great fun , but its no fun losing to a 6500lb truck

Don't think i'll be racing my S much more after that beating

I'll just enjoy the car on sunny days , and of course i will still be going to the track 'not the drag strip'...thats were our cars shine

AUTO x <<<<<<<for me

sorry about your loss..i don't have any truck race stories but losing like that or even barely winning makes you want to stop drag racing...keep it on the curves! or get a supercharger!!!

310 hp @ 3000 rpm
605 lb-ft of torque @ 1600 rpm

It's hard to compete with those specs.

Top end speed, you'd eventually beat it, off the line or from a roll, you don't stand a chance.

And you can pretty much forget it in towing capacity

Was it modified? They don't run 13's and lower out of the box.

actually the 6600 duramax is known more for it's top end vs other trucks, not its power off the line.

in stock form the GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500 run about a high 14

did you race him to 30mph and then stop? lol. either that or your friend has his truck modded (there's many mod kits out there for these that give huge hp gains)

haha, a chipped Turbo Diesel truck can usually pump upwards of 500whp easy.

Yeah, I learned my lesson about turbo diesel trucks years ago. Had one destroy me on the highway, and I mean he really destroyed me. I was heading up a fairly steep hill with my car floored (wasn't even racing anyone just minding my own business), this guy comes flying up behind me from out of nowhere, he gets next to me, lets off, revs it, punches it, and he's gone... all the while I had my foot to the floor. He probably had to wonder if I was even trying, that's how badly he dusted me. I just sat there laughing. What else can you do at that point. And he had a ladder rack, utility box, and enormous tires. That truck probably weighed more than my house. This was when I had my eclipse but a stock S wouldn't have stood a chance against this guy either.

Hehe, yeah its kinda weird to see them run that fast. We seen a Crew Cab Ford at the track go 12.1, it looked totally stock. he raced a lifted GMC with huge tires etc and the GMC ran 13.3.

In CA they dont havve to smog diesel trucks thats why they get away with modding the hell out of them, but that is supposed to change.

yeh i found out that he in fact did have a chip and said he was getting about 680-700ft lbs of tq so yeh i raced him , for fun again , i didnt stand a chance @ any spped ...this thing was SO FAST , i think it could beat almost any car i have ever seen race on the street . JUST UNREAL POWER , it was funny as hell watching him go. of the line this thing does wheelies , pops up and down spinning the front tires for 500ft .....OMG i got a lesson in POWER tonight

as for my S ...track and top down drivin only , i'll leave the drag racing to drag racing cars . My S will never be one so i wont ever try to make it what is not "A drag racing car "
if i wanted to drag race , i would buy a 99-2001 COBRA MUSTANG and run w/ a 125shot w/ drag slicks , which i may just do sometime . But i will never sell my S, as nothing to me even compares
still like my peppy little roadster ...as i will refer to it now
