Default PacNW membership badges

Badges are available for your signature line and let other owners know that you have been a participant in the Northwest regional events. Additionally, they will allow you post for sale threads in the PacNW forum. When you have a moment, thank our member: KenS2k for the badge design and any related artwork that we are using. The rules behind receiving a PacNW badge are stringent compared to many of the other regions. Badges denoting "membership" with the PacNW Owners Club are available to users meeting specific criteria. First, you must be a current resident of the Pacific Northwest. Having lived here twenty years or simply taking a connecting flight at SEA/TAC does not qualify you for a badge. YOU MUST LIVE HERE NOW. Second, you must attend a club meet and introduce yourself to other members. Unless LIG or I can put a face to your screenname, we don't know you and you don't get a badge. Exceptions to this second rule will be granted only on a case by case basis and usually because of geography. Dual residency will be verified but will not restrict you from receiving a badge.

You may submit a request for a badge by replying to this thread.

No amount of whining by residents from outside of the club area or offers of trade for other club badges/money/car parts/strippers will amount to an exception. You will be ignored and privately ridiculed without cessation.

Currently one of four members will need to verify your existence IN PERSON. Make it a point to introduce yourself to one of the following at any event.
LIG (Jeff Chin)
RT (Ray Tai)
WestSideBilly (Jeff Bathke)
JerryPeterson (Jerry Peterson)

How do you get a badge?
We've had problems with scammers wanting to post for sale threads and multiple account weirdos. We are running shop in this manner for a reason. The CO's participate in the vast majority of the meets organized through this board, so these requirements are far from outlandish. If you want vouch for someone, there needs to be a better story than:

Good vouching action:
"Hey yeah, I know McLovin... we were roommates along with WestSideBilly, Brantshali, MikeGarrison, and Green is Gold. And he is a top. He still owes me half the power bill, uses a spoon to consume Slurpees, and does unusual things to his date with Champagne bottles. The wheels on his car are pink."

Bad form all around:
"We met in a dark alley to complete a transaction... once. I got to keep my wallet and the gun wasn't really loaded." or "The bastard is sleeping with my wife/daughter/gardener/dog but seems otherwise ok, he tips."

Didn't we already have a new badge? So members need this badge to post FS here? What's the difference?

Not sure what route you are taking on attending events (how strict). I've been to two TTs, 1 autoX with Lig, and 1 PDX meet 2 weeks ago... Will be more frequent when my car actually moves...

Wyatt, you already have the badge in your signature. So I wouldn't sweat the details.

The original badge request thread was locked last summer to prevent further abuse. I've been experimenting with the For Sale policy in the interim, and based upon my observations will be making modifications and codifying the policy in the new FAQ thread.

This thread sounds new for two reasons. One, we have a defined policy. Two, most anyone requesting a badge would be a new user to this forum.

Kelvin, I've added you to the badge database.

Kai. Dude, you've had a badge for like a year and a half. It is on your signature line in the post above.

If you want a different looking badge for the PacNW region, you should create a new discussion topic. I'm partial to the one we have, but that doesn't mean everyone else isn't ready for a change.

No no, I dont mean I dont like the one we have... I just thought it was already decided to get a new one. Whether for aesthetic purposes or for some membership reason. Nevermind.
