Thumbs up no new S2000?

Road & Track in their January 2005 issue on page 43 say that Honda has scrap the S2000 replacement, where they are talking about the next NSX. It reads: " In the meantime, the lackluster-selling S2000 may face cancellation in 2006 or 2007--unfortunately with no successor in the pipeline"

I think it is time for Honda to kick it up a bit. A little bit more HP & Torque (maybe a V-6) and some more comfort items inside (nav system, paddle shifting transmission?, XM radio, bigger brakes like Brembo, more leg room), but keep the handling and the feal the car has now or better.

And make it harder to get parts.

And make it more expensive to insure.

I don't get why everyone who has one of these cars is so excited to see it discontinued.

And yes, I do own one, but I don't care if other people have one.

But, but... Wasn't 2002 the last year for them to make it? I am sure the sales guy said something like that when I picked up my car...

Higher ins? Why because the parts are going up in price? I don't think you'd see huge gains in parts price to warrant a higher ins rate. The killer is the ealier models are now cheap enough for the kids to pick them up and wrap them around a tree.

Why would discontinuing the car make it harder to get parts for or make it more expensive to insure than if they brought out a totally new S2000?
