Default "Hit and run", but too obvious to deny

Hey guys,

This may be long, but I'll appreciate if I get some feedbacks! Here's a summary before I post the pictures:

-Friend and I meet to eat dinner
-Park my S2000 on the street of my friend's house.
-Shoot pool and come back at around mid night.
-Discover damages, investigate surrounding, logically come up with a conclusion, ring the doorbell of my friend's neighbor who lives across the street (lights on), no body answers the door. Later discover people inside the house peaking through the blinds numerous amount of time.
-Realize that their driveway and where I'm parked is exactly perpendicular (picture my parked car as the vertical line and their driveway path to my car the horizontal)
-Take pictures of the scene, with details, and ask my friend to drive home so I could come back tomorrow for better pictures and a police report.
-Get a call from my friend that a guy stood near my car asking "what's wrong" and implied that he was responsible.
-Immediately drive to my friend's house w/ my family's car and see the police and my friend. No neighbor.
-Police asks if the S is my car, and I provide him with my information (DL, Ins, Reg.)
-Police asks for us to ring the door bell of the neighbor's house.
-Neighbor comes out screaming "You students are so messed up, WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!"
-Police calms her down and asks if she's responsible.
-She replies "I'm a Christian"
-Police warns her that Hit and Run is no joke and is a serious offense.
-She claims the damage on her rear bumper two years ago.
-I agree that it may be, but it was probably repaired? Plus, the damage looks too fresh. There are no rust, no spider web spreads, etc.
-Police describes that his initial investigation makes it possible for the Quest to be accountable, but ultimately is a hit and run as he or no body was there to witness the accident.
-I explain that accidents happen all the time and I'm okay with it, but I don't condone blatant liars or hit and run people.
-All is cool, I take more pictures and come home.

Anyway, what y'all been waiting for.

Last two pictures were taken from the damage to their drive way, and their driveway to my car. If you assess the damage, it is clearly in line w/ that Quest's rear bumper. The squareness on the top, and of course the sidemarker which caused a black scrape near the top middle.

I do have a lawyer I plan to contact as soon as possible, but I would appreciate any insight that could strengthen my case and or hear stories of people that have the same unfortunate experience.

Jeff

*edit. The car's still parked there and I will take more shots during the daytime tomorrow. I plan to get there at 7am so nothing's moved, and I think it's hard to make a prudent judgment call from the picture I provided, but I'll follow back with more detailed photos.

*EDIT
-Woke up at 6:15am, went to the location for pictures and measurements.
-Discovered that the "hole" in her rear bumper is EXACTLY the same height as where the S2000 Sidemarkers are.
-Was able to 100% verify that the damages she claims to be two years old is yet another lie.

-Even the scratch marks dictate that these two cars have collided.
-Now that I see the whole street during day time, it's even more clear.

I don't understand how any individual won't own up to their mistakes. Especially incidents that happened in front of their house. I just find it astounding that there are people like this that would happily leave a scene of a hit and run accident, w/o checking to see if the victim inside the car is ok. Even more surprising, which is expected, is that she probably told her daughters to lie w/ her.

I would've been more than happy to settle this outside the court, negotiate with her, work with her and her family, but now I'm hoping for more. Leaving a scene of an accident is HUGE, and if she's proven guilty, she's going to pay a lot of fines and fees for my lawyer and repairs.

Jeff

That sucks. This same accident has happened to me twice in other small cars. Unlike you, they both accepted responsibility. I parked on the road, and both times someone backed all the way down their driveway, crossed the street, and hit me in the front quarter panel. One time it was a conversion van, the second time a pickup. I try to never park on the street now. Be aware of people's driveways or it could happen to you.

Whenever I go to my peoples houses I insist on parking in their driveway, otherwise I'm just taking my beater car...

that's bs, if she is not willing to pay up, i would make her feel real unsafe living there just to screw w/ her.

Can't they do paint matches? Like, if she hit you, and it looks like there is severe scratching there should be some residue at the least on her vehicle. Maybe I watch too much CSI/Law and Order, but it could be a possibility.

Also "I'm a Christian!"

Gold. Pure gold.

When she said this the cop should have just started writing his report saying she did it and admitted responsibility when directly asked.
