UMW S2000 owners camping trip
Please use this thread to ask questions and discuss the camping trip.
The cost for the campsite fluctuated with the amount of people so I reserved it for 25 people. The total cost was 129.50 for Friday and Saturday. That comes out to $5.18 a person assuming we get 25 to participate. In a worse case scenario I'll bite the cost on the campground. So it's $5.18 a person regardless of who shows up. (this does not include food or drink)
Food:
Looks like we will be going with "Bring your own food" to eliminate any logistical problems. So as the bare minimum PLEASE BRING ENOUGH FOR YOURSELF. There will be some people who are bringing food for the entire group, but again please do not rely on that as your only food.
Drinks/Booze/Beer is also "BYOB"
There will be a BBQ pit onsite and if necessary a fellow S2Ki member has offered to bring in a real BBQ grill for us to cook on if needed.
Parking:
A secure spot that is very near the campsite is now available for you to park if you are arriving in your own vehicle. Details will be sent to you before the campout.
Transportation to campground from the alternate parking spot:
I'll be driving my Explorer and shift_9K will be driving his Montero to help get gear in to the camp. So thats three shuttles to get people and gear to the site so far. We will need 2 others to volunteer their truck or SUV / Utility trailer Etc. for the same duty.

I want to do this. I have not gone camping in 40 years.
September 9-10 are perfect. It's a week before the Fall Vintage at Road America.
Kettle Moraine is great and easily accessible.
I think that I'll add a box to the rear of my trailer and drive the S.
Guess I'll need to get a sleeping bag and a portable karaoke machine for Angela.

Your mission, should you accept it Mr. Phelps, it to get the beer off your chest and into yourself.

We'll most likely leave the meeting areat to kettle moraine around 7:00 no later than 7:30.
We need to pick up some food on the way there.. i think frozen meats and canned goods will be sufficient.
Try out making your tent prior to leaving.... we'll be getting there late on friday and you don't want to be scrambling to get the tent up in the dark..
