2007 Mazda MX-5 HT/Convert
Curious that Mazda would do this to the MX-5 seeing as how they are obsessed with the car's wieght and balance. I am interested to see how this effects weight distribution and performance but ... even still, Mazda is able to have a folding HT and still have a usable trunk with it topdown. Pontiac, Saturn... you see this?!?!?!
Personally..... I would take the ragtop. The HT kinda looks like a Qvale Mangusta to me....

Based on what I've read, the trunk size is unchanged with the folding hardtop; quite an accomplishment in my opinion...especially considering how most hardtop convertibles have almost no trunk space with the top down.

And a slap in the face of GM who seemingly couldn't design a softtop that doesn't take up the entire trunk and that can be operated from within the cockpit, all for the sake of appearance when the top is down.
Now Mazda essentially retrofits it's current platform with a retractable HT without sacrificing trunk space? 
While it may not look quite as aggressive as the Kappa cars, it still remains an attractive true roadster with very respectable performance/handling, while maintaining practical storage for a sports car and now the additional convenience and security of a coupe. Nice job Mazda!
