Default Modified V1 displays...

I have begun modifying V1 remote displays. All displays are brand new in the box from Valentine Research and come with all the original wires/accessories. I can do the following:

- Change color of bands for easier identification at a glance :
Laser - Red
Ka - Blue
K - Amber
X - Green

- Change signal strength LEDs to a rising color scale instead of all red LEDs, again for easier recognition at a glance.

- Slim display down very thin to fit in tight spaces.

- Re-locate the wire jack to the rear of the unit so it is easier to hide or delete jack and hard wire the wire to the unit (must be slimmed for this service)

- Custom molding of display.

I am also working on making a display that is built into the rear view mirror. No estimate on how long this project will take though, but I have ordered a mirror to start working on.

I have one display that I have already changed the LEDs on the bands. I can slim it down if desired and have it out ASAP. I have also another display already modded, but it is sold to Glenn. I have a few more brand new displays on the way and LEDs are in stock.

Pricing:

New display: $40
Change bands: $25
Change signal: $30
Slim unit down: $5
Custom molding: varies depending on job

Pics (display pics are blurry because the LEDs are brigth and my camera sux):

Example of display slimming

Here is a photo of the different colored LEDs (bands only in this example) in action:

Here is a photo of PAs2kNut's display with the band and signal LEDs done:

I have been trying to get my friend to buy a V1 for his 335i, and he keeps putting it off.

I'll send him this thread

Very cool. What if I already have a display? Can I send it to you? What exactly is done to slim down the display and about how big is it when you're done? I really need this as I just can't find a place to put my current display in my S2000. Thanks.

This is a photo of what one looks like after it has been slimmed and the plug has been re-located. As I said before, I can also delete the plug altogether, your choice. Basically, I use an epoxy to create a cover for the rear of the unit that is really thin, rather than the bulky box.

I can modify your display if you want as long as it is in good working condition. Let me know if you would like this done.

Thanks
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

I will be in S. Dartmouth in the morning. However, I'm planning to be in the Fall River Taunton area around lunch time. I'll give you a call when I've left S. Dartmouth.
