Found this, looks like a personal plate on the S, 'Buck 1'. Very unfortunate story.

We all know street racing is a bad idea, but unfortunately many of us are guilty of it. It's terrible it takes something like this to drive home the point. Just yesterday I caught myself getting into it with a guy on Rt 33 and had to stop myself before it got serious. This crash also makes the point of how important seat belts are. If he hadn't been thrown out of the car, that crash certainly looks survivable.

It's just too tempting when everybody with a hopped up car seems to want to challenge the little sports car to a drag race. I know I need to get better at ignoring the idiots, but it's not easy. Very sad for this guy and his family/friends.

I think it's important to point out here that the S2K driver was apparently not the st00pid one here. He was an innocent victim of other people's stupidity unless I read it wrong.

I'm with Aaron....PLEASE wear your seatbelt folks. It just doesn't make ANY sense not to.

Nevermind....that video doesn't really go along with the text. I wonder which one of those stories is true?

Still, buckle up!!

From Columbus Police accounts:

Timothy N. Hartman, 29, was traveling southbound on South James Road south of East Broad Street.
Hartman was driving a 2001 silver Honda S2000.
Jeffrey S. Henry also was traveling southbound on James south of Broad..
Henry was driving a 2005 Black Ford F150 pickup.
As the vehicles approached Elbern Avenue, the car and pickup came into contact for currently unknown reasons, which caused both vehicles to leave the west side of the road.
