How about a group drive? We can start in the morning, meet up in a big parking lot, drive through a little bit of Ventura Blvd, do a little mountain driving over the hill to Santa Monica, cruise back up Sunset or Hollywood Blvd, then have lunch somewhere.
I've never organized anything like this and I don't know a good twisty road over the hill aside from Topanga Canyon, so if anyone wants to step up and organize this, feel free!
Please don't make it this weekend, though! I'm gonna be in Tahoe. If nobody wants to organize this by the time I get back, I'll see what I can do.

That's 31 people in 26cars so far... AWESOME!
The plan so far is....

First, Meet at Starbucks, before 9:00am

5422 Topanga Canyon Blvd.
Woodland Hills, CA 91367
(818) 340-5053

We'll realistically head out at 9:30. We need to keep it early, because some people have work and superbowl festivities to attend as well.

Route:

1) North on TOPANGA CANYON BLVD/CA-27 towards CLARENDON ST by turning right.
0.2 miles
2) Turn LEFT onto BURBANK BLVD.
0.1 miles
3) Turn LEFT to take the US-101 NORTH/US-101 WEST ramp.
0.2 miles
4) Merge onto US-101 N.
9.3 miles
5) Take the KANAN RD exit.
0.2 miles
6) Turn LEFT onto KANAN RD.
0.2 miles
7) Start out going Southwest on KANAN RD towards AGOURA RD by turning right.
6.0 miles
8) KANAN RD becomes S KANAN DUME RD.
6.2 miles
9) Turn LEFT onto PACIFIC COAST HWY/CA-1.
17.8 miles
10) Turn into big parking lot just north of Santa Monica Pier.
END!

The route sounds like a good 45 minutes to an hour of fun. We should be able to finish up by around lunch time. We can even plan a little lunch in the Santa Monica area for those interested.

POSSIBLE PARKING FEE near Santa Monica pier:
0.75 cents for each half hour with a 6.00 max after 4:00pm

I may be down for this. You should check the list from the West L.A. meet & Brunch as most of us live around the areas you're looking at driving in. What weekend were you looking at?

Hmmm... I was thinking of a saturday / sunday morning drive. I don't think a weekday would be good for us 9 to 5'ers.
