Yup, my dad just called me and he's on his way to Mercedes North Houston to get his new car.

He's supposed to swing by College Station to show me and my friends; hopefully, I'll get a few runs from the driver's seat. [crossing fingers] And maybe I can finally get some pics with my friend's camera - if it's not too dark...

BTW, it's the '04 E55 AMG.

Excellent car Alex.

Here's to hoping you get a few drives. Did your dad go for the big sunroof? Keyless go? What other goodies.

You have probably been there already but check out www.mbworld.org
The E500 owners are green (on St. Patrick's day) with envy of the E55.

My dad emailed me some pics. I resized them to reasonable resolutions:

I'll try to take some more pics later today when my dad stops by. The exterior shots were no good - damn overcast.

Hopefully it'll stop raining and the sun will come out for some decent shots, and maybe even a decent drive.

Yowzer! I love how it's such a sleeper. Noone will suspect that it'll blow the doors off most cars on the road today.

Alex,

If you don't mind posting it here how much did your Dad close the deal at? If you would rather not, please PM with the details.

After seeing those pics I think I have found a contender for an S2000 replacement.

Wow, that's fast. My local Benz dealer was saying they will get them closer to the end of the year and will start accepting orders in April.
Nonetheless, very cool!
Yes, the dual sunroof is very cool! Though the rear one does not open.
