From Ianl
Summary:
Very easy, no cut install (I am happy to help install at the Workshop meet at Microbe's house) - total install time - 2 hours (quicker if you rushed). Installation involves removing OEM aibox - huge and heavy (nice weight saving!!!). Extending some vacuum lines, making sure lines dont foul belts at front of engine (rip-ties deal with this).
Benefits:
Noise - at least as good as 'lid-off'!
No loss of performance.
Arguable, non-verified, gains in power at high rev's (it feels quicker to me!!).
No cut install - return to stock in 1 hour.
Washable K&N type air filter - saves on filter replacement costs in the long term.
No risk of hydrolock
Drawbacks:
Instructions are unspeakably crap - I used Pete's pictures to install.

I was seriously tempted, and ready to contemplate flogging my AusS2000 AIE on the board, until I got to Ian's "extend some vacuum lines" comment, at which point any hope of an easy "even Mark can manage it" install evaporated in the face of my ignorance as to (a) how to recognise a vacuum line and (b) how to then extend said vacuum line. The only kind of vacuum I'm fit to mess about with is a Dyson
(and even then I pay someone else to do it
)
Doh.
