Yet another thread on SO2s..
I had a puncture a while ago and got my dealer to supply a new SO2 for the rear as I needed it quick and local - so didn't mind paying a little over the odds.
They knew and said that they needed to get the specific SO2 for the S, so when I got it I gave it a cursory check and took it home and fitted it.
This weekend, after doing a touchy-feely tread check, I noticed that it was different from my other rear (explaining the wet weather 'fun').
So, I have SO2s, 225/50/WR16. The original that I ordered very specifically from a specialist is an ESO2JZ the one that Honda supplied me is an SO2JZ.
Which one do you have?
You need to find the small writing right at the bottom of the sidewall, next to the wheel - the ESO2JZ and SO2JZ are virtually the same on the sidewall apart from this.
I believe tha the ESO2JZ is the correct tyre - it has more 'block' than 'rain channel' across the tyre when you look at it. Leading to the S' less than optimal wet weather on the edge handling.
My Honda dealer produced several bulletins and reminders saying that the S2000 should have an SO2JZ 225/50/WR16 etc etc, but none of them mentioned the ESO2JZ. I think that maybe the SO2JZ is a newer tyre that is just out there to confuse people
They are speaking to Honda technical and I will update this when I get an answer from them.. I know this has been done before with other dealers, but what I am really interested in here is how many people have which sort of tyre.
So, please vote and we can then tell Honda how many people they need to communicate the right (whichever it might be) information to.

Will do.. they haven't got back to me yet... spent the last 40 mins searching on the web for ANY info on the ES02JZ... nada, zip, bugger all...
