I just got the long anticipated call from my dealer with the order confirmation number and the build date for my '02 Spa. The build date is 3/10/02.
Is Sunday a work day in Japan?
What does 3/10 mean?
This is a 'day of the week' question not a time zone question. I know Japan is several hours ahead, but 3/10 is 3/10, Japan, USA, or Germany.

Maybe they lied to you? You calling them too much?
Actually from working with the Japanese folks in my company, they tend to work week through and in shifts. So I wouldn't be too surprised by an offbeat day.

Perhaps the 3/10 build date represents the first day of the week in which your car will be built. There may very well be multiple cars with the same build date that will roll off the line throughout that week.
Congrats!
Congrats!
I am Japanese... but that doesn't matter since I live here..
But like someone else said, in Japan, the date format is different from how it's displayed here. It goes by Day/Mo/Yr, not Mo/Day/Yr this it could be very likely that they mean Oct 3rd.
When I was in Japan last year, every electronic gadget I bought, receipts, etc.. we all in the Day/Mo/Yr format.
But since your dealer gave you the build date, they probably would've switched the date format to the way we have it here.
I s'pose it's not unusual for it to be built on a Sunday with the work shifts and hours like they are in Japan.

Most assembly lines in the other parts of the world run 7-days/week. It would not be too surprising to have a build-date that is a Sunday (or Saturday). Only in the US do they shut down the lines for the weekends -- that's why people say avoid buying American cars built on a Monday, because the workers are still too hung over from the weekend and cannot do anything right.
Well, look at it this way. If it is October 3rd you will be one of the very first with an '03 model!!! Maybe it will have a hyper-drive system capable of inter-galactic travel and come in Monte Carlo Blue
