Default Front VA License Plate

Back in the day...when an '84 CRX was brand new I used to run my CRX w/o a front plate. Much like my new S2K catches the eye of everyone (including officer donut), I long for the right to keep the front of my car clear of government crud. Just curious as to the VA S2K owners that have opted to keep there nose clean and leave the front plate in the trunk... If you have done so, what has proven to be the typical result with officer donut?

Thanks.

PS. I know keeping it off the front bumper is nothing but a ticket waiting to happen...but just curious how any who skirt this issue are fairing. Thanks again.

I'm wondering the same thing. I guy a work who has a real nice M3 says he has never been bothered by the law. I think the general thing to say when asked is, "Officer, the damn thing broke off last week when some woman backed into me. I'm waiting for the new bracket to come in to the dealership".

Don't know if it would work or not, but I think I'll order the bumper plugs from HandA and wait for them to come in, then get rid of the tag.

I've kept my front plate on and personally, I don't have any problems with leaving it there. However, I have seen some S2000s in our (Richmond) area without them. I doubt if the cops will pull you over for it...........unless they catch you for speeding or some other violation

But.......I'm thinking of removing my front plate now.......for a cleaner look

When I pulled my bracket off to put my front grill on I noticed that the bracked has scraped and scratched the area around the screw holes. It was a wide enough area that the plugs will not cover it up - so I'm going to leave my plates on to keep it covered up.

I've had my plate off for almost a year and only got pulled over for it in a driving rainstorm during the meet I held in August.

It's a $25 fine with $35 worth of court fees.

Still no front plate.

I've gotten about 5 tickets for not having my front plate. 3 of those were in D.C. Isn't that stupid? My car is registered in VA and those DC pigs gave me a ticket while it was parked. What's the point of a front license plate?

Oh, that's an easy answer...to ruin the clean look of the front end of cars -- -- a look that auto designers took great pains to establish...especially for our S2Ks!

As for a legit answer (i.e. one without emotion), cops contend that a front plate allows them to identify an on-coming motorist if same is a perpetrator of a crime, etc.

I removed to plate form the holder. Drilled a Hold in the top middle and bolted it to the front of the grill. It looks great. Still there but won't KILL the lines. Another person I work with bolted it to the back of the grill. Even better.
