Well, I went to court today for that 51 in a 25, and got screwed:

$500 fine
Driving school
Good behavior
and Suspended license

So I'll be turning in the stook pretty soon, even though I'll definately be appealing, I'm not going to pay $650 a month if I can't drive it. If the appeal works maybe I'll get it back, but I have been looking at the new X-type Jag.

Well, just thought I'd update you on that ticket. I'll be going back to crying in a dark corner now.

Sorry to hear of your predicament dude, I hope you can get some linency on appeal. Did you have an attorney with you? and for how long is your liscence suspended? I'm assuming this wasn't you 1st violation.
I can't wait to get my V1, 'till then, just gotta keep alow profile, (after then too).
Good Luck, Frank

Sounds like a much needed vacation...

You can still drive at the track... You should go to VIR and do way more than 51mph!

I didn't have a lawyer with me. I figured since it was my first offense, it wouldn't get suspended (my license). Lost the darn thing for 6 months.

Thats bullshit, suspending your liscence over 51 in a 25. Unless it was a school zone, I'd appeal it and get a jury trial and get some shikester lawyer to help you out.

Looks like the judge might have taken your age into consideration. Being 16 and not having your license for long, maybe he/she figured a suspended license would get the message across.

Usually, if you are going 25 over the speed limit is considered reckless driving so maybe that was why you got a stiff penalty. But life w/o the STOOK would suck...BTW, are you really 16?

Jon sorry to hear about your day in court. When my license got suspended last time I argued that I needed to drive. They granted me a probationary license. You may want to try that.
