J's N1 silencer installation - photos
I'm posting this for smccurry. Here's how it went:
These two shots shows how the silencer looks.
Here's where we drilled the hole in the tail pipe:

For those with J's exhaust awaiting the silencer, here it is. As you can see, it comes with one screw, nut, and washer, and of course one pre-drilled hole on the silencer. You have to drill your own hole on the exhaust tip (thanks Rick). As I previously pos ted, the pressure from the exhaust gasses exiting during throttle causes the silencer to slightly bow out, when the pressure is released, it makes a slight rattle as it settles back in. This could be fixed by either drilling another hole on top and attaching another screw, or maybe exhaust tape (?).
I just leave it off to hear the motor

rstark,
Thanks for the photos! I need to get one pretty soon. Today was my first day of driving with the JS Racing exhaust...and that sucker is louder than heck.
By the way...does it come black...or did you paint it?
Thanks!

Not trying to be an a$$ ... But aren't all N1 exhaust setup noisy as hell simply because they weren't designed for any noise filtering and instead have a high focus on high end performance? If that is so, why put something restrictive on an N1 exhaust setup when you obviously want all the high end power you can get out of it and not worry about the noise when you know it's there whether or not you like it?

. I leave it off all the time so I don't have to listen to my wife complaining
BTW, you're right about the restriction with the silencer on, but at least you are still saving about 35 lbs. weight

Right, that makes more sense ... I understand where you're coming from. Lucky, I don't have someone who is always complaining that my car is noisy. But of course, everyone has different conditions to adapt to and obviously yours is quite a top priority.
