Default Off Topic - EJ has a new job (Mortgage Banker)

Hey all -

I wanted to let you all know I've decided to stop being a lawyer and do something productive with my life. I recently accepted a position with Bank of America as a mortgage banker in Bethesda. It is going to be a lot of fun and I will be working with a very good friend of mine who has been nagging me to join him for years.

So - if you're interested in buying a home, purchasing investment property, or refinancing the existing the one you have now (rates are ridiculous low), don't hesitate to contact me.

Here's my new e-mail address (or just PM me) -

edward.j.achtner@bankofamerica.com

Congratulations! While the law undoubtedly offered you opportunities to feel satisfied, getting folks into a home (or a bigger home) will make you feel good about yourself, for sure!

And yes...Taska and I might just take you up on that offer! Ridiculous(ly) low rates is a correct assessment Taska and I are about to refinance with the same firm we'd last worked with...but this time on a 15 year mortgage. EJ, can you do anything better than 4.875% w/ no closing costs and 2.125 points to get that rate (those points we'd need to roll into the mortgage). We can do this with "no closing costs" if we're financing over $75K (which we would be).

EJ, this is what we're looking to get with the current firm (www.capcenter.com). Can you beat it? I'd love to hear you say yes, cuz every...single...dollar means everything to Taska and I at this time in our lives. If you can work a better deal than this, then e-mail me at w1ngmans2000@hotmail.com . Hope we can do business with you.

- Dave

Congrats EJ! . We refinanced our house last year (30 yrs, from 8% down to 6.625%). I am thinking about doing that again very soon, down to 15 years if we can.

If any more openings come up in Richmond and Anna and I decide to finally move up, then we will certainly talk with you on getting a mortgage. We've banked with BofA for years now. Ever since they were NCNB!

Thank you all for your support! I really appreciate it and I will do my best to support the community in any way that I can. I will contact each of you individually regarding your specific questions on rates and refinancing. I can't believe how many PMs I got on this!!!! Bank of America has over 300 mortgage programs (which is why I have a big headache right about now!!) so I think there's a little something for everyone. Plus, if you have a mortgage with them, they really go out of their way to kiss your butt which is a nice thing for a bank to do....

Seriously though... Going from a lawyer to a mortgage banker.. What about all those years of law school you endured and then the bar exam??

Hey - no one said I'm not a lawyer anymore!! All those years (and that friggin' bar exam) were certainly worth it; I am using that knowledge every day. I am amazed at the response I got just by posting on the board. Gosh - I am so thankful.

I don't work with car loans per se, but I can definitley refer you all to top-notch people who do!
