The Atlanta Boxster Club is going to try and rent VIR for a DE and the track requires at least a 2" broom stick clearance, the dreded Broom stick test -- I an un sure if that is possible in the stock S2000.

I was wondering if anyone has designed a roll bar extension there is such a thing for the Boxster and I was wondering if there was one for the S2000 -- I wan to make sure I have a good group before we pay the deposit and rent the track.

Thanks in advance!

I'm 5' 9" and with a helmet on I don't even clear the stick let alone 2 ". For the time trail events I'm going with the top up and scrunch real far down and hope that don't notice. Our local PCA requires the open and soft-top units to just clear the stick to qualify. My first trial literally and figuratively is this weekend and we'll see if I qualify.

It's a problem I wish we could rectify without the bother of a full roll cage. I for one don't see how a roll bar extension can both meet the 2" rule and allow for the top to operate. Doesn't seem like there is enough room.

Good luck.

there is not a company doing this for the S2000? Sounds to me like someone could make some $

http://www.bkauto.com/bx3010.html

this divice will allow the boxster to pass the dreded broom stick test -- I am sure that someone could do the same for the S2000... IMO

The Cusco doesn't appear to be an easily installable/removable roll bar.

But I really like those Boxter rollbar extensions that BKauto makes. They look like they could be installed/uninstalled in just a few minutes.

Giampiero, any plans to offer something similar?

I'm comfortable with the stock hoops, but many of us need something to satisfy the track-nannys.

It would have to be easily installable and removable without tearing up the interior. With more tracks dis-allowing the S2000 due to the low hoops, I think a bar like the BKauto Boxter one would be quite popular.

A full-time bar like this Cusco is just not an option for most owners. It's just too ascetically challenged.
