Default Sebring VS. Silverstone

The only thing that keeps me from buying a 2002 silver s2k is the fact that the silverstone silver was discontinued and replaced with the sebring silver. The silverstone looks so much nicer to me. I was considering looking for a 2001 silvertone silver, but I just dont like the plastic window. I have seen some that are so faded that it is almost impossible to see through them. Can these plastic windows last for years with the proper care? Should I wait till 2003 to see if by some miracle they bring back the silverstone silver? Are the 2002 transmission that much better than a 2001?

You could find a clean used 2001 Silverstone. With the money you save you can have a glass window installed. Properly cared for, the plastic window will last for years. Don't expect Honda to bring that color back in the S2000. If you want a new one, choose a new color. Don't get stuck on the color, that's no reason not to buy a great car such as this one.

Yes, the '02 transmission is better.

I "think" Silverstone looks better with red leather, but Sebring Silver looks better with black leather. Glass rear window is just something you must have....... I don't have to take care of my rear window at all and the defroster works well during the winter. If you can wait, I suggest you wait for the 03'. 7 more months to go. Maybe they will throw in Power Locks and Traction Contorl...etc......

Have you seen Sebring in person yet? If not, at least give it a chance. It will not disappoint. Like many of you, I loved Silverstone. But after seeing the two colors side by side, I preferred the new color. Of course, this is entirely subjective, but make no mistake: the S doesn't lose its distinctiveness in the new Sebring. It really is striking in person.

s2000guy,

maybe you can still find a BRAND NEW 2001 Silverstone sitting at a dealership that hasnt been sold yet its just a thought, and you can probably get atleast a 2-3k off MSRP.

I have seen the sebring in person many times. Like I said, it is the nicest 2002 s2k color. But the silvertone is so much better. But I thnk I am better off with a new 2002 s2k because of the improvements over the 2001. i guess color is not everything.

Silverstone is a much richer looking color. I have one and I've seen the sebring in person. Its too light for my taste. You could probably get a 2001 NEW and pop a hardtop on it for the price of the 2002 if you shop around. That would be the best combo IMO.

I have a Sebring but I actually like the Silverstone a little more. In florescent lighting at night the Sebring is amazing however. I could have went with a new '01 Silverstone when I bought my Sebring, I just felt all the "fixes" Honda did on the '02 where worth it more to me. Here is a picture I took of my baby this morning. I just put on the front spoiler last night.
