Default Front biased spring rates (25%) on

In the February issue of Grassroots Motorsports there is a write-up on the 2004 S2K in which they mention that:

[QUOTE].....The front spring rates have been increased by 6.7 percent, while Honda lowered the rear rates by 10 percent

Sounds like a reasonable theory, but where did you get the 2002 and 2003 spring rates from, it's the first time I've seen any numbers?

I think your info on the '02-'03 changes is probably not correct. I've autoxed both '00 and '02 and they felt exactly the same to me- several people here have driven both back to back and noticed basically no difference at the limit. Bar thickness and diameter may have changed, but I doubt the spring rate change was that drastic.

Any 02-03 owner with coilovers want to put a 100lb weight on their stock springs and see how far they compress?

I too have not seen any official numbers on 02-03 spring rates, and would love to know what they are.

In almost 2 years of looking I have seen not one solid number as to the 2002-2003 rates, who can get these first . I know not me or I'd of had them already and shared with everyone, I gave up .

I have a set of springs sitting in the garage... does this mean I need to rig up ~300lbs of weight in order to provide a vaguely scientific number?

It would be nice to know if the part # differ. That usually dictate a change of some sort. A buddy of mine just picked up an '04 rear sway. the part number of the bar and bushings are different from the '01-'02. The same should go for the new spring if they are a different rate. I'll stop by the dealer to check tomorrow.

I just got off the phone with the clerk...

'00-'01 share the same part number for front springs and is different from the '02-'03 models. The clerk also went to check if the '02-'03 part number superceded the '01-'02 and no, it does not. Both part numbers are currently available. '04 model is not yet in their system.
