Default What are the MY2000 and MY2002 spring and damper rates?

I assume the MY2002's springs are stiffer, shocks softer. Also, are the mounts identical?

2000-2001: (according to that Honda tech doc)

Front: 38.3 N/mm (219 lbs/in)
Rear: 51 N/mm (291 lbs/in)

The 2002 does seem stiffer.

Side question: When you go over uneven pavement (gaps in the road, man hole covers, etc), does the suspension make a loud thud/thwap noise? Last year, one of my shocks died and made a much louder noise (metal on metal). This noise is not as loud, but still sounds like the suspension is hitting hard.

The noise you are describing reminds of when I was riding on the bump stops in my CRX. The shocks were all blown from lowering the car, but you didn't lower your car. Hmm.

If those numbers are correct for the MY2000-01... uhh wow. Does any one have the rates for the 2002's?

In light of the above, a subquestion:

Are the stock front/rear springs interchangable?

They have the same coil diameter (about 4 1/4 inches) and coil count (6 1/4). So they are interchangeable in the sense that they fit the seats. The different rates would affect ride height since stiffer compresses less, etc.

If Honda varies the spring length so that different rates give the same ride height, and since front and rear corner weights are about the same, then you could interchange.

My stock my2000 springs have color dots on then by the way, if any one has the code. dots on three adjacent coils. front is blue blue red, rear is blue red red.

What is pricing on the springs from Honda? I may try experimenting with different stock springs for the car.

Just an FYI, the rear '02 swaybar has the same diameter but a thinner wall, and the front bar has both a smaller diameter and wall. Also, I know the shocks have different part numbers, but I'm not sure if they are stiffer or softer.
