After 9k miles my tyre tread depths are:

7mm even at front
6mm even at rear

Can someone remind me of the legal requirement please ?

LOL I think you'd even be OK in Germany with those tread depths!

In the UK it is 1.6mm of tread over more than 75% of the width of the tyre, the AA recommends 3mm.

In Germany I think it is 6mm (and we get all their part worn tyres shipped over )

Thats comprable with mine, Ive done just over 9000 miles (in 7 months ) plus 1 track day (2nd one on Tuesday ) and mine are 5.4 and 5.3. I thought that was quite good as they guy in the garage said they start off with 8.

Doesn't it alternate for each post in a thread? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Yes Red at the moment it alternates between two shades of grey but most of the time my background is completely white. I just wondered if this was normal or if it's an issue with my P.C. I've noticed that sometimes when I've been playing a game using the 3D capability of my card, (All In Wonder Pro) the background goes grey afterwards. No biigy I just wondered if this was normal.

I just dug out my receipt for my service at 6089 miles last April and I see my tread depths were noted as 5.65 front and 5.66 rear. Ooooer.

Legal is something like 1.6mm. Personally, I've always changed by around 3mm - I've always noticed the grip starting to go in the wet.

Oh, I think we can also conclude you haven't been vtec'ing off the A444/A42/M42 roundabout enough - you've far too much rear tread left

Sorry my bad!

Have you tried getting an updated driver from ATI? If you have upgraded Direct X or your OS recently you may be having a driver version issue...
