Default S2k/F20C Powered Ultralite! (pics)

I was at a recent regional SCCA Autox and saw this on the course.

Its a 1200lb Ultralite with a completely stock F20C motor and tranny.
The thing is totally custom made for any potential buyers.

Its a major cone basher when you see it first hand.

Cheers-

What a perfect application for the F20C. All the power of the S2000, with half the weight. Perfect!

I got a firsthand look at this thing last Saturday. The guy's using engines and trannys out of wrecked S2k's, but the cost for a new power/drivetrain should only increase the price by 3500.

Since the stock ECU requires the original matched key, they're using an aftermarket engine computer and distributor system. It's not tuned very well right now, as Honda's timing curve is still a bit of a secret. They swear they can crank these things out for 28k w/ a used motor.

The rear end is out of a Subaru WRX, and w/ a full 8 gallons of fuel, it weighs 300lbs. at each wheel. Add a driver, and you're under 50% of the weight of a full S2K.

I figure that w/ a full NA package, you'd see 250rwhp, for a fully-loaded 5.5lbs/hp. nice.

It was wicked fast totally cold and untuned, spitting out black smoke everywhere (waaay too rich, but that's okay it'll get better)

here's the website:
