Default Turn Signal Bulb #?...urgent

Hey fellows,
I burned out a turn signal bulb last night, and I'm wondering what the replacment # is? I was told it was 7440, but I'm not sure thats it.

Anyone know what I should ask for at the Hond dealership?

I'm looking to get amber bulbs...I had some PIAA superwhite.

Thanks
Steven

P.S. Please forgive my un-professional post. I'm a little hungover this morning

Yes...7440 is the correct style. Now, you also said you want *amber* bulbs. If so, then it would be 7440A. However, if the turnsignal bulb is being replaced behind USDM Amber diffusers...then the 7440 bulb is actually clear -- and therefore no "A" would be added to your request from Honda. And when it flashes behind the USDM amber diffuser, then you have a brightly lit amber corner turnsignal. Make sense?

PS. You should be able to purchase 7440 clears from places other than Honda if you wish (PepBoys, etc.). But again...if you see 7440A bulbs in blisterpacks at such auto parts stores...you'd be doubling-down on amber in your corners if you put 7440A bulbs behind USDM amber diffusers

a little extra pieces of advise.

first, i always get my bulbs from http://www.lightlens.com/coloredbulbs.htm. there might be cheaper, but i know where i'm going to find my gear here, and i hate making trips to find the bulbs at hardware stores.

second, there are two bulbs. one is the one that comes on and stays on which is the smaller bulb: 194(A) <-- the A was explained above. the other is the actual turn signal which is the 7440(A).

third, i run LED's on my side markers, and daayyummnn! they're freakin' awesome. expensive too, but if i could do it again, i'd do the same thing in my turn signals as well. they're clear until they light, and then they're a nice, crisp amber that's very noticeable. of course, they don't make them for the 7440's, only the 194's. if you're looking for the part number at that site, it's LED194SA.

One thing I have learned, the factory bulb (194 in the side marker, at least) is twice as bright as any aftermarket bulb.

If that's the case about your having JDMs, you might want to take note of my "w1ngman clears corners" sig link. There is a link *inside* that link that offers instructions on how to "stealth" 7440As so they are less noticable until turnsignal is actuated. Also noted in there are alternative hyperwhite 194s for the running/parking lights. Good combos for cleared corners .

Grrr... Gotta take that advice back. Seems my links have been hosed with V4. I'm going to have to work with my local C.O. to allow me to re-edit that link/thread I'd closed way back.

I'll do a search for you for my actual closed thread and I'll link it back here shortly.

I bought some bulbs made by phillips i think. I found them in a link that W1ngman posted about half a year ago or so. These bulbs are chrome and blink amber so you can't see them at all when installed.
