Default Looking for a lil puppy to eat...

I meant, to own...a little typo there.

But anyway, this weekend I'm looking for a puppy to own for the first time (of owning a dog). I'm looking for a dog that is intelligent, obedient, yet kinda powerful at the same time.

I've narrowed it down to a Siberian Husky, German Shepherd, etc. If anyone has had experience with that type of dog (basically a watch dog that's intelligent) in good and bad ways, please post here. I'd appreciate it.

I don't want to own a dog for the first time and have a horrible experience with it, like it wants to kill me or someone else. But at the same time, I don't want wussy dog like a Chihuahua and such. I'm very gentle and affectionate towards animals and I know I'd be able to take care of a dog very well. I currently have a cat, but I want a dog as well. Thanks!

Ah, Mister Russian man and his electrocuted dad. Good to see ya again!

A golden Retriever is out; too hairy for my taste. I know, a husky is hairy too, but I'd settle for one.

Any horrible experiences with watch dogs anyone?

^ exactly.. Husky's don't like the heat, and they need a huge amount of room to runaround in.. HUGE!

When I had my Husky, he'd beg to go outside in 20f weather, and love it

Akita....cool dogs. And Basset Hounds too!! Smaller, good sense of smell and hearing, and their bark makes them sound like their 200 lbs. or something. Or a blood hound...

I have a book of dogs, with every single dog documented in there. But what I'm looking for is personal experience from you, esp. the horrible ones with really mean dogs.

Ummm...some of them look good. I'd like a fried hamster right about now.

But nothing can be compared to what I've seen on Fear Factor. I wouldn't be surprised if one day they made the contestants eat real shit.
